Going to grass

Carson HATES grass.
We put him down on the lawn and he will barely put any of his limbs down to touch it.

Inspecting the grass with Grandma Barbie....totally not sure about it.

At the park at Springs Preserve, right after we saw a moms group of heavily tattooed biker mothers and their children. Gotta love Las Vegas people watching!

Carson is standing really well. Today he stood alone for a few seconds.

Carson has some new funny tricks this week.
He has developed a "fake cough", and he coughs whenever someone else around him coughs.
He can "find Herky" in his University of Iowa book. Very important knowledge.
He can find everyone's nose but his own.

Our little slice of heaven....

Even with drool and food on his face....he is perfection.

Just kickin' it

Carson is just kickin' it this week with his grandparents.
Grandpa Dennis is here until tomorrow and Grandma Barbie and Papa Dave are now here for a week. Carson has been in complete grandparent heaven this month. Such a lucky boy!
Here he goes...back up the stairs with Grandma Barbie today...

My dad treated us to lunch today at the Claim Jumper. They brought a baby plate of food for Carson and he went absolutely berserk eating everything on the plate...mandarin oranges...turkey...applesauce....cheese....basically, when it comes to food...this boy does not discriminate. Here he is with a satisfied look after eating everything in sight.

This weekend, we "got our Vegas on" and took my dad out on the town for some fun.
We went to RM seafood for dinner and then up to Mix at Mandalay Bay, where we enjoyed the top notch view of the Strip. Then we headed to Encore where we had a drink at Sinatra. I think my dad's version of heaven probably looks a lot like this place...including the rows and rows of slots as far as the eye can see. As with the Wynn, the decor in the place is completely amazing.

My dad and his look-a-like buddy. Lucky for Carson, my dad and him happen to have the same nap schedule! :)

Just waking up

Here is Carson this morning, waking up from his nap....

I heart the stairs

Carson LOVES the stairs.
Our new life with Carson means spending Saturday mornings hovering over him as he climbs....and climbs...and climbs. Those days of sitting idling by as Carson plays on a blanket on the floor are so over. We wouldn't have it any other way! It's the best life ever.

The Hurricane

This past Thursday, a Category 5 hurricane otherwise known as Hurricane Dennis blew into town. Carson is having a great time chillin' with his Grandpa. I took the guys to Town Square today where my dad took us to lunch and randomly bought out the entire chocolate section at Whole Foods.
Carson was enjoying showing off all of his moves at the park today.
Currently, both Carson and Grandpa Dennis are napping. Guess the outing was a success!

We babysat for Isaiah last night while Sarah went to get her hair done. He ate half a brick of cheese for dinner and watched two full episodes of the Backyardigans. I don't think he blinked for 45 minutes. It was an easy gig. Below....the boys....already drinking together. :)

Isaiah checks his email while Carson scopes him out.

Hip happenings in the life of Carson

Carson has had such a fun week.
Grandma Caryn left yesterday. It was so sad to see her leave! Carson had so much fun hangin' with his Grandma. They played all weekend and had the best time.
Carson went to the doctor last week and so he got some new "stats". Carson is 22 lbs and 2' 7.5'' (31.5 inches) - so he is 75th percentile for weight and 90th for height. As Papa Dave says - it's time to return that leotard!
He is pulling up to a stand regularly on everything. He zooms up the stairs now...which totally terrifies me, but he seems to love it. Also, this boy LOVES to read. He will read.....and read.......and read. As long as someone will sit there and read to him, he will sit there, engrossed in every page. His babbles are sounding more like words and his receptive language is growing by leaps and bounds. We love this age and we're having a blast watching him discover the world and everything that he can do!
Below: A boy after my own heart. These photos were not staged.

So snuggly reading with Grandma.....

Here our boy is pictured at the White Trash Brunch at Simon at Palms Place.
It's a rough life - someone's gotta do it!

The next generation's Maloof brothers at brunch on Sunday - Carson and Isaiah.

Isaiah passes the ball to Carson - just like his dad once did to Jason!

Valentine's Day date at Simon.

More reading with Grandma Caryn....What a treat!

Has anyone seen my foot?

Carson's newest high chair stunt....

Happy Valentine's Day!

Carson likes to "touch the light". Over and over again!

Carson attended his first "Teenie Weenie Valenteenie" party at his buddy Angelina's house. All of his baby friends were there in attendance. Carson received some Valentines...a goody bag filled with bubbles and homemade teething biscuits....and got clocked in the forehead by his buddy Luke...twice! He recovered and loved his time at the party. There were about a dozen babies there!
Here are a few pics from all the action.

Carson hangin' with Grandma Caryn....loving his grandma time!

No No...Yes Yes

Carson is a busy man this day and age.
He is buzzing around the house, looking to get into anything he can find.
He is pulling up to a stand and cruising around...just looking for trouble!

No no.....Climbing the stairs!

No no....attacking the gate as though he is a prisoner!

No no....rummaging through Grandma Caryn's purse!

No no....inspection of every outlet in the house!

We love our little Marco Polo....he is an explorer, through and through!

The Man With 1000 Faces

Here are just two of them!

Carson is on his way to the doctor today for his 9 month well check and some shots.
He's having a busy week so far. Our friends Carie and Daryl stayed with us this weekend and Carson loved having them around. On Wednesday, Grandma Caryn arrives for the weekend. Good friends Deana and Jason Bickler are coming this weekend as well. Carson loves visitors!

Stunt man

When I go into Carson's room these days, I never know what I will find him doing.
Today he was standing up in his bed.
Uh oh!

Finally....success with our monkey picture. He isn't smiling and he would only sit if he was holding his teething tablets...but he did it.

A Nudist

When I went to get Carson up this morning, I found him like this....
He took off his own pajama shirt.
Who's nudey???!!

Carson is still getting over the flu AND is his top teeth are about to plow through his gums.
A double whammy!
Luckily, we all got some sleep last night courtesy of the makers of infant tylenol. This was after I dropped one of Carson's glass bottles down the stairs at 4 AM, causing it to shatter on our tile, which meant I washed the floor at 4 AM to get all the glass shards up. Carson and Jason watched Blues Clues in bed while I did this.
So far....a splendid day. Nice work mommy!

Super Sunday

Carson feels great today. He is back to his old self.
Below...an attempt to take our 9 month monkey picture. We'll try again tomorrow.

Isaiah came over today and we walked to Starbucks. Isaiah likes to pat Carson on the head.

The two godbrothers discuss which mischievous activity they should try next.

This is Carson's new "camera" face. When he sees the camera, he makes this cheesy mug.
It's his version of "blue steel"!

Puke and rally

Carson was throwing up on Friday night. It seems that he caught some sort of stomach bug. Poor guy! We are lucky because it is the first time Carson has been sick in his 9 months of life. Puking up everything in his stomach couldn't even dampen the Stinky Fish's sunny spirits.

Carson chugs Pedialyte...

Big smiles, even after waking up from a sick night.

High fiving Dad after waking up in the morning....nothing can get this guy down!
