Today Carson is wearing his Polo outfit from Kerry and Kristina. He looks so dashing. He needs to....today he is going bridesmaid dress shopping with his mom and his Auntie Carie (bride to be) and Auntie Sarah who are visiting Las Vegas this week.

8 Weeks - Curious George...

Carson is Curious George this week. He is looking at everything and taking in the world! This morning, I went into his room to feed him, only to find him on his stomach. I had put him on his side originally, so we have a little roller! Yikes!
He's 8 weeks today and we can't believe it. Here are some pictures of our little man, growing and changing every day...
Carson weighed 11 lbs. when he was weighed on Tuesday of this week.
Below is a video of him playing on his new jungle themed mat. It's a little sample of all the new sounds Carson is making this week. He is very vocal and loves to tell stories. (Takes after his mom, I guess!)

Yesterday was Carson's first time smiling at me! He already had smiled at his dad a couple of times. Below is one of the smiles he had reserved just for his mom. Looks like our boy is figuring out how to get exactly what he wants, because I would do about anything for one of those precious little smiles!

Welcome Grandma Caryn!

Carson welcomed the final grandparent yet to meet him, his Grandma Caryn, this week!

It has been a very special week. Grandma Caryn has bonded with Carson already while taking him for walks in the buggy and on tours of our house. She is loving every second of being with him. This week's challenges include getting Carson to take a nap. He is so interested in all the living going on around him that he doesn't want to sleep during the day these days. We're working on his schedule this week so hopefully we will have it down soon. Otherwise, besides visiting with Grandma Caryn, Carson is busy eating and interacting with the world more and more each day. We've decided that, due to Carson's extraordinary interest in ceiling fans, he may have a future as the manager of the ceiling fan department at Home Depot! :)

Yesterday Carson wore his "Born Lucky" Las Vegas baby onesie that his Auntie Deana and Uncle Jason Bickler got for him. He looked so cute in it! Although this boy could wear a paper bag and look cute, he looked particularly dapper in this outfit.

Happy first Father's Day to the incredible and amazing father of one very lucky little boy!

Carson will be a good man one day because his dad will show him the way.

With Jason as his dad, there is no doubt that he will grow up to be a person that will make us all very, very proud.

6 Weeks

Fun updates from this week: Carson is enjoying a nice visit with his Grandpa Hurricane Dennis.

Grandpa Dennis has a special song for Carson that he sings to him when he's crabby. Carson immediately quiets down! Not to say that Dennis is the next American Idol, but his singing voice has somewhat of a sedative effect on Carson...meaning we may need to take him to a recording studio before he leaves so that we can have it on CD to put on "repeat". :)

Carson loves his swing. Here he naps in his swing after a long day of playing with his Grandpa.

Carson has developed many new expressions and sounds this week.

Carson's first official smile came just yesterday while Grandpa D and I stared at him. Attempts to replicate this smile for the blog were largely unsuccessful. But here's a try!

Such a big boy!

Carson is growing ever bigger. Yesterday at our breastfeeding support group, he weighed in at 10 lbs, 3 oz! Some pictures from this week are below...

Carson watched Game 2 of the NBA Finals with Dad on the couch. Different pajamas, same game outcome as the first time!

Carson loves his carseat. Here he contemplates world peace and our independence from foreign oil while resting in it.

This morning Carson took a nice long nap next to me in our bed. I should be so lucky to get a nap THAT good!

Today I had a doctor's appointment with my OB. I got a clean bill of health from the C-section. Dr. Pollock was so awesome to us while I was pregnant. Carson is pictured below with the man that brought him out into this world!

Today, Carson's Grandpa Dennis arrives for a visit. We can't wait to see him!

5 Weeks

Carson donned Lakers gear (compliments of Grandma Barbie) for the NBA Finals Game 1 last night. The game watch was on with his Dad, Uncle Dean, and "brother" Isaiah. Unfortunately, the outfit did not bring luck to the Lakers but he looked pretty darn cute in it!

5 Weeks old today!

Fun with Great Uncle Mike

Carson was lucky enough to meet his Great Uncle Mike this week.

They were both wearing their Chucks, thus they bonded instantly!

Add in a mutual love for music and Lucille's BBQ and the rest is history - they are buddies.

Thanks to Uncle Mike for taking the time to see us this week - see you in Chicago in August!

Carson's latest stats from his doctor's appointment today....

9 lbs, 12 oz (55th percentile for weight) and 22.25 inches long (75th percentile for height).

Tall and skinny....maybe Carson won't have to be a male gymnast after all! :-)
